Bicycle, Bicycle, Bicycle!!!
Today, o what a lovely day! Despite waking up before sunrise with a headache, I still had a good day! This morning I was really hoping for some warm weather worthy of allowing us a trip to the beach, and guess what… we got it! The water was cold, but just right! The tide was fierce and even pushed me all the way onto shore! And then it rolled me back into the ocean; just like rolling down a grass hill… except it was sand and water. I’m still looking out for Parker’s sharks, but ‘unfortunately’ didn’t come across any today! shoot! A couple days ago a man and his son came by to donate some things that they doing use at their house anymore. Usually the offerings are pretty crappy and we end up giving or throwing those things away, but this one was different. This one was really an answer to one of our girls prayers! One of the first things that KK said about herself was that she wanted a bike; that was one of her dreams. She hadn’t ever ridden one but she knew that she was missing out on some sort of fun. There, amongst the toys and roller blades was a bike! It’s a white girlie bike really made for kids who are a little bit younger, but it’s a BIKE! A of the girls were stoked and wanted so badly to learn how to ride. However to do that, they had to overcome fear and take risks. Now for me and probably all of you the fear of riding a bike is none existent and seems a bit out there, but think about it. We were all once little and all had to overcome a fear of falling or going to fast so that we were able to ride. It’s just that these girls are a little bit older, but that doesn’t make all the fears go away!
As of today all of the older girls can officially ride a bike along with Uni… way to go girls! I’m so proud of them!!!!
brooke.
what a great day!!! Teaching someone to ride a bike is exciting and exhausting!!! I remember helping you and your brothers and disinfecting, bandaging and kissing many an ouchy
Posted 3 years agoHas anyone tried the roller blades? I can rollerskate, but I never could get the hang of the blades.

Love YOU ~ Mom
Posted 2 years, 12 months agoOk, what color is the bike. You say white, Daniel says pink, which is it?
You leave in 2 weeks and we are looking forward to it, but as others have said use this time to really let those kids and Mama know how much they have meant to you. The way they love all us crazy Americans who come over and spend just a little time with them is amazing. Give them all a hug from Uncle Jay.
Love You!!!!
Posted 2 years, 12 months agoHi Brooke,
I have heard that you had a wonderful Christmas lunch today. Mama says that it was a great time, hope you enjoyed it too.
You are coming back soon, and I will chat with you once you are back. I wanted to thank you while you were there for the way you have loved the kids, Mama, Norenti and sister, and also my parents. My mom says you are the sweetest thing, and I agree. I love your sense of humor and beautiful smile. You are a thinker too and I enjoy hearing the thoughts that circle that brain
I know that leaving home for several months has been a sacrifice for yourself and your friends and family. I need you to know that we are all proud of you. Thanks for hanging in there with those Bible studies with the girls…even when sometimes you got some resistance. Thanks for helping out with the feeding programs and child sponsorship distributions and more. I am so proud to know you and your family. The Muckenthalers hold a special place in my heart.
God bless…can’t wait to chat when you return.
